The Street Dog Project of Dallas is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs.

The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so “got the band back together” so are an experienced team, operating under a new name.

The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be scanned for a microchip, examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs.  Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs.  Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.

Dallas has thousands of street dogs and our goal is to save as many as possible.  We hope to raise awareness for the street dogs who just need a chance.  We love sharing the transformations these deserving dogs make once they are safe in loving homes.

Fosters and funds are crucial to saving more lives.  We do not have a physical shelter so the dogs live in foster homes or are in boarding until a foster opens up.  Please email info@thestreetdogproject.org for info on fostering.  When you foster, we cover the dog’s vetting and can provide supplies upon request. Fostering is a very rewarding experience as you get to see the dog blossom in your care as well as satisfying knowing you played a key role in their journey to their forever family. We encourage you to try fostering at least once in your lifetime!

Through prevention, survivor care, and community transformation programs — we work to end sex trafficking and exploitation by empowering the voices of vulnerable and exploited youth.

For The Silent (FTS) was founded in 2007 in response to the sobering issue of sex trafficking and exploitation in Asia. During the first three years of operation, FTS assisted anti-trafficking organizations in Thailand and Cambodia through project-based fundraising efforts —  funding projects in Asia which continue to operate and serve trafficking victims today.

In 2010, FTS shifted its focus to the U.S. and started street outreach to key areas where trafficking victims are commonly located, such as strip clubs, motels, juvenile detention centers, and online. After realizing the prevalence of the issue in East Texas, FTS developed a crisis intervention program for victims and prevention education program for high risk youth. FTS works hand in hand with juvenile justice departments, law enforcement, and middle schools in East Texas to educate, empower, and mentor girls who are high risk for or have already experienced exploitation, giving them the tools they need to leave exploitive situations.
